Institute of Advanced Computer & Research (IACR) was established in the year 1999. Initially, we started the institute with MCA course. In 2001 we introduced the B. Tech. Degree Course with three branches namely Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). In 2002 Mechanical Engineering and in 2003 Civil Engineering courses were further introduced. We are proud to declare that we have the full fledged departments of CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering since 2004 and we introduced MBA in 2006.

The institute is duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. During 1999 when the institution was started affiliated to Berhampur University, Berhampur. However after the establishment of the Technical University, Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, IACR is now affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). Our Institute is certified with ISO 9001:2000 by Bureau Veritas for the Quality Management System.

The Campus is located over an area of more than 20 Acres land sorrounded by green hillocks at the back drop. It hosts an array of buildings measuring more than 2.5 lacs Square feet builtup area which accommodates Class Rooms, Air Conditioned Computer Laboratories, Computer Centre, Training, Development & Placement Divn., Central Library, Mechanical Workshops, Civil Workshops, Electrical Laboratories, Electronics Laboratories, Canteen, Students Common Room, Administrative Office, Conference Hall and many more.
